Osborn Appointed President of Braintech Industrial Inc.
MCLEAN, VA - Braintech Inc. has appointed Jerry Osborn as president Braintech Industrial and executive vice president of the parent company, Braintech Inc. He will report to the CEO of Braintech Inc. Rick Weidinger.
‘‘Jerry Osborn brings extensive executive experience and knowledge in the robotic and automated manufacturing fields to our Company,’‘ says Weidinger. ‘‘We’ve worked with Jerry in recent years while he was at ABB, a leader in the robotics manufacturing industry. He understands Braintech’s products and their value.
‘‘We are confident he will provide the leadership we need to grow our Industrial Division and assist in our number one focus of generating revenue.’‘
Osborn has held various management positions in customer service, engineering, project management and manufacturing and was most recently Vice President and General Manager of the North American Robot Automation business unit of ABB Robotics Inc. from 2004 through 2008. Under his leadership, that unit sustained triple digit revenue growth.
‘‘The world manufacturing sector is currently facing serious challenges and Braintech’s advanced software technology eVFTM has great potential for many industrial applications as manufacturers seek ways to optimize their operations through cost effectiveness, quality improvement and safety," says Osborn. "Over the past 20-plus years I have had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of customers in industries ranging from food and beverage to automotive. I’m very excited to have this opportunity to help build the Braintech Industrial Division.’‘
Osborn has a B.S. in Industrial Technology from Colorado State University and has undertaken specialized graduate studies at Duke University, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, the University of Michigan and the ABB Academy in Switzerland. He began his career in the ESAB Robotics Division in 1983. Osborn joined ABB in 1992 after it acquired ESAB Robotics. He will be based in Braintech’s Sales, Engineering and Operations office in Detroit.
