This webinar, featuring a live demonstration, will showcase the evolution of Hexagon’s direct scanning laser trackers: cutting-edge technology that now delivers traditional reflector-tracking accuracy to non-contact, large-part scanning.

For decades, manufacturers have struggled with high-accuracy scanning for large-volume applications, especially when measuring intricate geometries on sizable structures. Historically, scanning large objects (such as aircraft fuselages and wing-to-body join structures) has been hindered by accuracy limitations, forcing manufacturers to rely on complementary measurement systems that disrupt production and create bottlenecks on the shop floor. These processes often require scaffolding, scissor lifts, or similar equipment to position target reflectors, probes, or hand scanners.

In this webinar, we will demonstrate new measurement workflows that eliminate these inefficiencies, enabling significant time savings while ensuring reliable, high-accuracy measurements of features, edges, and surfaces. We’ll explore the technological advancements driving these improvements, the benefits they provide, and real-world validation of measurement performance.

Upon completion, participants will:
  • Experience the streamlined transition from traditional laser tracking to direct scanning laser tracking.
  • See firsthand the quality of high-accuracy scan data, rapid feature scanning, and automated distance-based measurement.
  • Gain an understanding of the technology enabling accurate, non-contact measurement of large objects.
  • Discover a new approach for scanning and measuring large components or assemblies in industries such as Aerospace, Shipbuilding, Automotive, and Energy.
